Understanding Responsible Play

What Does Responsible Gambling Mean at Royale36?

Responsible gambling means approaching betting as a form of entertainment with a clear budget — never as a way to earn income or recover money already lost. At Royale36, we design our platform so that players from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Bahru can enjoy EPL matches, Liga Super Malaysia fixtures, live casino tables and slots without losing sight of personal limits.

Responsible play is not just about awareness — it requires practical tools, accessible support and a platform that actively intervenes when patterns of concern arise. Royale36 integrates all of these elements into the core of our service.

Every Royale36 account holder can access limit-setting tools and self-exclusion options directly through the support team. No judgment. No waiting. Our support agents are trained to handle responsible gambling requests with care and confidentiality.

Play Within Your Budget

Decide on a fixed RM amount before each session and stop when it is reached — regardless of wins or losses.

Set Session Time Limits

Time passes quickly during live betting. Use session reminders or time limits to take regular breaks.

Never Chase Losses

Chasing a loss with a larger bet is one of the most common patterns that leads to problem gambling. Accept losses as part of the experience.

Keep It Fun

If you feel anxious, irritable or stressed while gambling, it is time to stop. Betting should feel enjoyable, not stressful.

Know the Signs

Warning Signs of Problem Gambling

Problem gambling can develop gradually and is often difficult to recognise in oneself. The following behaviours are commonly associated with gambling harm. If you recognise several of these signs in your own habits, please consider reaching out for support.

Spending more money than you originally planned, repeatedly telling yourself "just one more bet".

Gambling with money set aside for rent, bills, food, education or other essential commitments.

Feeling a strong urge to win back money after a losing session, placing larger bets to recover losses quickly.

Hiding gambling activity from family, friends or colleagues, feeling guilt or shame about time or money spent.

Neglecting personal relationships, work responsibilities or daily health routines in favour of gambling.

Borrowing money, selling possessions or taking out credit specifically to fund gambling sessions.

Feeling irritable, restless or anxious when unable to access the platform or when attempting to cut down.

Gambling as a primary way to escape stress, depression, loneliness or other emotional difficulties.

Failed previous attempts to set limits, take breaks or stop gambling despite wanting to do so.

Recognise yourself in any of the above? You are not alone. Seeking help early makes a significant difference. Scroll down to the support resources section or contact the Royale36 support team to request a cooling-off period or self-exclusion — no questions asked.

Quick Self-Check

Is My Gambling Still in Control?

Honest self-reflection is a powerful first step. Read through the questions below and consider how many apply to your recent gambling behaviour. There are no right or wrong answers — this is a personal check, not a formal test.

If you answer "yes" to two or more questions, we recommend using one or more of the Royale36 player protection tools listed on this page, and considering a conversation with a support professional.

1

Have you ever bet more than you could comfortably afford to lose in a single session?

2

Do you find yourself thinking about gambling frequently when you are not actively placing bets?

3

Have you ever borrowed money or sold something to fund a gambling session?

4

Have you ever returned to gambling shortly after losing, trying to win the money back?

5

Do you feel you need to keep increasing your stakes to get the same level of excitement?

6

Has gambling ever caused tension, arguments or concern among people close to you?

7

Have you ever tried to cut back or stop gambling and found it harder than expected?

Two or more "yes" answers? Consider setting a deposit limit, taking a cooling-off period, or speaking with one of the support organisations listed below. Contact Royale36 support at any time to activate player protection tools on your account.
Built-In Controls

Royale36 Player Protection Tools

These tools are available to every Royale36 account holder. To activate or modify any of them, simply contact the Royale36 support team via live chat or email. Requests are processed promptly and confirmed by the support agent.

Some restrictions — particularly self-exclusion — impose a mandatory waiting period before they can be lifted, to ensure the decision is considered and not impulsive.

Deposit Limits

Set a maximum RM amount you can deposit over a daily, weekly or monthly period. Once the limit is reached, no further deposits will be accepted until the relevant period resets. You can request a reduction at any time; an increase may involve a short review period to allow reflection.

Session Time Reminders

Receive a notification after a set period of continuous platform use — 30 minutes, 1 hour, or a custom interval. These reminders prompt you to take a break, review your balance and decide whether to continue with a clear head.

Cooling-Off Period

A temporary account restriction lasting 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or another defined period. During a cooling-off period, your Royale36 account remains open but betting and deposit capabilities are suspended. Existing balances and pending settlements are unaffected.

Self-Exclusion

A formal request to restrict access to your Royale36 account for a minimum period of 6 months or longer. Self-exclusion is taken seriously: Royale36 will suspend the account, remove it from promotional mailing lists and take reasonable steps to prevent the creation of a new account during the exclusion window. Self-exclusion records are retained to prevent circumvention.

Reality Check Notifications

Periodic in-session messages that display your current session duration and net win/loss position. These notifications are designed to cut through the flow of play and present an objective picture of your session so far.

Account Closure

You may request permanent closure of your Royale36 account at any time. Funds remaining in the account balance will be returned to your verified payment method after completion of required checks. Closure does not erase historical transaction records, which are retained per our Privacy Policy.

Our Commitment

The Royale36 Responsible Gambling Pledge

Running a responsible platform is not optional — it is a core part of how Royale36 operates. The following commitments define our obligations to every Malaysian player who uses this platform, from first registration to ongoing play.

These are not marketing promises. They are structural commitments built into our operations, support training and account management processes.

01
Enforce the 21+ Age Requirement Without Exception

Age verification is mandatory before the first withdrawal and may be required at any point. Any account found to have been registered by a minor will be closed immediately and any deposits returned after review.

02
Make Protective Tools Easy to Access

Deposit limits, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion are available to every account holder on request. No friction, no barriers. Our support team will process any responsible gambling request as a priority.

03
Honour Self-Exclusion Requests Fully

When a player requests self-exclusion, Royale36 suspends the account, removes the player from promotional communications and takes reasonable measures to prevent re-registration for the duration of the exclusion.

04
Never Market to Excluded or Vulnerable Players

Players who are self-excluded, in a cooling-off period or who have requested no promotional contact will be removed from all Royale36 marketing lists. Bonuses will not be offered to players showing patterns of problematic play.

05
Train Support Staff in Responsible Gambling Procedures

All Royale36 support agents are trained to recognise, respond to and escalate responsible gambling concerns. No player will be discouraged from using protective tools or redirected away from support resources.

06
Review and Improve Our Practices Continuously

Royale36 reviews its responsible gambling framework regularly. Tools, policies and staff training are updated in response to industry guidance, player feedback and emerging research on gambling harm prevention.

Play Smart

Enjoy Royale36 Responsibly

Royale36 is here to be enjoyed — not to create stress or financial difficulty. Set your budget, use the tools available and reach out whenever you need support. Play smart, play safe.

For players aged 21 and above only. Gambling can be addictive — please play within your means.
